![]() Will it work where my PicKit1 cannot for in circuit programming - currently using PicKit1 I have to disconnect my output from GPx to remove the 40ma draw when programming occurs, else I get a failure to verify? The calibration values are read before a bulk erase and restored automatically afterwards. It can tolerate 10s of uF on Vpp and several mF on Vdd. The ProProg on the other hand has totem pole drivers on all outputs and closed loop readback of Vdd and Vpp to verify the proper levels have been reached before proceeding. It can tolerate only small capacitance on Vpp and a few 10s of uF on Vdd. The EasyProg relies on passive pulldowns and open loop timing for Vdd and Vpp changes. The EasyProg was designed to be affordable to hobbyists, whereas the ProProg was designed for time=money applications where failure is expensive. If this is for commercial use where extra robustness is worth money, you should consider the ProProg instead. I wonder two things about EasyProg then I will buy it for my production line.
